If Pedigree and environment contributes as much to a person's destiny as they do to a horse's, it'd be safe to say that Kelsey Avila had both on her side in becoming a professional horse woman.  Growing up under the watchful eye of her mother, Bonnie Lang and her grandmother, Carla Salsbury, she never had the chance to say no to horses.  Full speed ahead, her younger days were spent showing at Arabian and Pinto breed shows and also 4-H and Open shows.  Showing the grit and determination that makes her who she is today, she worked hard, those first years to establish a good horsemanship base and from then on, the sky was the limit.  Her first horse, Cairos Tatoo, an Arabian/Pinto gelding, helped her build a reputation as a tough competitor in the show pen.  Hard work and dedication earned them numerous awards and two highlights of their show career are their extensive collection of AKSARBEN plaques from junior exhibitor days to her last and final year of 4-H in the Advanced Classes and also qualifying for the Arabian Youth Nationals in Equitation and Horsemanship.

Always pushing herself to do better, Kelsey started training other horses at the age of 16.  A few personal projects here and there and her first 2 year old snaffle bit project for 4-H taught her how to put a solid foundation on all her youngsters.  After she graduated, Kelsey attended National American University in Rapid City, SD, entering the Equine Business Management program.  It was there in that program, that Kelsey learned to take her training to the next level.  After working with some of the top trainers in the horse industry, she decided it was time to start in on her own personal goal, her own training facility.  So, she turned to her family to help guide her.  Her mother, Bonnie, got her started on the Morgan breed, by asking Kelsey to start her then 2 year old Palomino Morgan stallion AZ Kachina Spirit.  From then on, she was hooked on the Morgan breed.

I have been friends with Bonnie and Kelsey and their entire family for years.   They are the nicest most caring and loving people you could ever meet.  They are respectful of your feelings and listen to you when you have questions or suggestions.  Kelsey gets to know you and your horse before she gets a training program together so it is always customized to your needs.

Both of them have assisted my daughter and her horse Mooney in many areas of riding and training since Randi was about 10 years old.  Mooney has been boarded at their farm for years and he loves it, as do we.

I trust both of them with my daughter and her horse completely.
